Jack Staite, of Browning Avenue, Warwick was found with £100 of what is believed to be counterfeit notes. He had attempted to buy fast food at an outlet in Leamington town centre at about 9.30pm on Friday using the notes. Staite was later charged by police with tendering money which he knew to be counterfeit. He has been released on bail to attend Warwickshire Justice Centre on Wednesday March 13. Traders are being reminded to always check notes that are handed over by customers or to use ultra-violet lamps if possible.
