Hide AdThe following day, Handy was again in action as one of six players competing for the first golf croquet tournament of the season at Crackley Lane.
It took on an all-play-all format with some closely fought games.
Ray Clipson came third with three wins but the title was not decided until late in the day when Handy beat Mervyn Harvey to take the title with four wins and a tie to his opponents’ four wins.
Handy now moves forward to the regional heat of the Centre Stage competition.
