A team of 12 Kenilworth Green Party members and supporters took part in a litter picking activity on Saturday October 19.

The volunteers picked up litter in the following areas the Greenway Coventry Road, Kenilworth Common and a layby on Crackley Lane.

One and a half hours work produced 16 bags of litter comprising numerous beer cans and bottles, plastic bags of dog mess, a barbecue, an untouched take-away rice dinner and a decaying estate agents ‘for sale’ board.

A number of Green Party Town Councillors were in the party.

Kenilworth Green Party Cllr Rob Barry said: "It was great to see what a positive effect on the local environment an enthusiastic group of volunteers can achieve in a short time.

"By delving into areas of undergrowth that are not covered by council contractors we found plenty of plastic that looked like it had accumulated over a number of years."
