A 58-year-old Rugby man remains in custody after he allegedly threw alcohol over a police officer and was later allegedly racially abusive when he was confronted in a no-drinking zone.
On the evening of Tuesday, April 27, a police officer approached the man on Clifton Road - and it is there where he allegedly threw alcohol over her.

Hide AdHe was then arrested and, while in custody, he allegedly hurled racist abuse.
He remains in under arrest in custody on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and committing a racially aggravated public order offence.
Much of Rugby town centre is under a borough-council imposed Public Space Protection Order which prohibits drinking alcohol in public.
The rule is intended to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town, and those refusing to desist when asked can face a fine of up to £500.
